True Community

Finding true community has never been a simple part of my journey. Like anyone, I have friends that leave and come into my life. When I say “true community,” I am talking about those who would die for you. Friends who would lay anything, short of their families, on the line for you. People you would want to be with in a foxhole and battle alongside.

There seems to be a struggle in me and in others to open up to the level of vulnerability and loyalty it takes to find true community in life. It’s the tension between needing relationships and struggling to believe it can and will happen. There’s something in us that keeps us from pursuing this level of loyalty and truly offering this to others. I hate this place.
